In 2022 the bicycles were nowhere to be found and we were therefore forced to assemble them at home.
To find all the pieces, we turned to companies in Italy, Germany, China, Taiwan, etc. From research to delivery it was a
real ordeal.
As a novice in the sector it was tough but in the end the result appeared satisfactory.
I was curious to try our creatures, but during the working season I didn't find the time, but on a hot November day, I went
out with the jewel you see in the picture.
It is a Wilier GTR disc like the ones we already used, but the small changes we have made have contributed to a clear
improvement in terms of aesthetics, comfort and performance.
Vision handlebar and Vision stem.
Aesthetically very nice and certainly more comfortable than the standard fitted model, the flat top allows for very comfortable support.
Tape Prologo one touch gel
Since it was November, I set off with winter gloves which, thanks to the heat, I had to take off shortly after setting off. The contact sensation is beautiful, it is soft and with an excellent grip, a real sensory pleasure.
Saddle Prologo new nago evo x10
It is much more comfortable than the Selle Italia X1 fitted as standard. I cycled five hours without tingling and soreness
Wheels Vision team 35
Instead of the Shimano RS 170 we mounted Visions, they are a little more expensive, but aesthetics aside, the weight drops by a kilo, excellent comfort even on dirt roads and greater lateral stiffness.
Brakes MPRO by Enfo
We have not found Shimano hydraulic brakes on the market and for this reason we have opted for two disc brake models, both hydraulic: TRP and ; the bicycle tested had the latter. I had already noticed the simplicity of maintenance and the possibility of having various adjustments thanks to the mixed system of the steel cable that actuates the hydraulic brake and I liked them, but the test literally thrilled me with the braking power.
In conclusion, although we are not manufacturers we managed (more luck than ability) to improve the already good
qualities of our Wilier GTRs and I am very happy about this.
I thank Claudio Marra, owner of FSA, who gave us excellent advice for building the bicycle.
